Ferndale School

Ferndale School and Resource Centre is a State Specialist School providing high quality education, therapy and care for learners aged 5- 21 years, verified under the Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS).

We believe in our learners reaching their full potential.  Through working closely with learners and whanau, we create individualised programmes that enable our learners to be 'The best I can be'.

School Overview

Ferndale offers a variety of specialist teaching environments.

Base School:  There are 6 classes with a mixture of primary, secondary, and transition learners.  Our Base School classes cater for a diverse range of learning, sensory, and communication needs.

Satellites:  At Ferndale we believe in inclusive education environments.  Our satellites provide the opportunity for our learners to achieve their learning potential in a supported learning environment, while also being able to integrate into a primary or secondary school setting.

Primary Satellites:

Linwood Avenue School - 2 classes.

Marshland School - 2 classes.

Beckenham School - 2 classes.

Secondary Satellites:

Haeata - 2 classes.

Waikahu (Shirley Boys and Avonside Girls) - 2 classes.

Transition:  Tētēkura is a community based learning space at Phillipstown, where learners focus on developing a number of life and work skills.
